Creating a work order
Pick a part with a BOM, a build quantity, and a site. It starts open — nothing is consumed yet.
Completing
Record completions as they actually happen, in any quantity up to what's remaining. Each completion consumes BOM components proportionally and adds the built quantity to finished-goods inventory.
Shortfalls
Completing is never blocked by insufficient component stock — inventory can go negative, and the shortfall is recorded on the work order for visibility.
Cancel
Only possible before any units are completed — once real components have been consumed, cancellation can't safely undo it.
